What to do

Through culture and fun

In baja sardinia you will have plenty of options to choose from to keep yourself entertained at any time. This is, in fact, a paradise for active holidays lovers, whether you are a couple, a family or a group of friends.

Among the cultural attractions one of the most famous sites is “La Prisgiona” Nuraghe: a must visit place for those who want to do something different from enjoying the beautiful sea and charming beaches of Sardinia and who want to dig deeper into Sardinian archeology. The compound is found in Arzachena, on a summit which overlooks a vast territory of several square kilometres. The complex inside the archaeological area allows its visitors to admire the central tower (mastio) and the inner chamber covered with a false dome which reaches 7 metres of height.

Other must go milestones are San Simplicio Basilica in Olbia and Stella Maris church in Porto Cervo, an antique church which overlooks the stretch of water below, furnished with simple benches, in sharp contrast with the luxury of Porto Cervo.

“Batteria di punta battistoni”, instead, is a defensive point of excellence of the Italian navy.

During World War II Batteria Battistoni and its fortresses guarded the stretch of sea which stands between the island of La Maddalena and Bocche di bonifacio. Barracks, communication trenches and tunnels are now perfectly merged with the landscape, almost invisible in the unspoilt nature, characterized by calcareous rocks, cliffs and the blue sea.

Then, only 15 km away from Baja Sardinia you will find Capo Ferro, on which overlooks the homonymous lighthouse. Its construction dates back to 1861 and it is now the interesting destination of lots of excursions, also because of the natural oasis in which it is placed, marked by the rugged coastline and a breathtaking scenery. The site is also a famous destination for sailing lovers due to the regattas which are often held in the stretch of sea in front of the lighthouse.

Baja Sardinia, however, is also renowned as a reign of shopping and entertainment, where you will be able to find dozens of bars, pubs and discos located in astonishing locations, perfect to enjoy the warm sunset light and party until the sun rises. Among the main historical clubs we suggest Ritual, built within the walls of a ruined castle and Phi Beach, a unique club overlooking the sea located before the slopes of Forte Cappellini: the perfect spot to wait for the sunset while enjoying a nice cocktail and listening to live music.

Naturally these activities we mentioned are only some of the attractions and magical places to visit in Costa Smeralda, as it would be impossible to mention all of them!
